Each year, Durham Academy's Rent-A-Junior program allows the junior class to raise money for a charitable organization of its choice. Students are asked to work a set number of hours and then donate the money they raise through their work to their class treasury. Typically, at the end of the junior or beginning of the senior year, the class will then donate all of the money raised to the selected organization.

Our Beneficiary

Junior classes in the past have donated several thousand dollars or more to various local, national or international organizations.

The Class of 2021 is working to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Other recent Rent-A-Junior beneficiaries include JUST TRYAN IT (Class of 2020); Urban Ministries of Durham (Class of 2019); and WISER (Class of 2018).

Submit a Work Request

The suggested donation for this year's Rent-A-Junior program is $10 per hour. All jobs submitted must require at least two juniors to fulfill the request, per Durham Academy policy. Please submit your job request at least five days before it is to take place so that we may find the best people for your job, and be aware that the program is run by students and it may take a few days for someone to contact you to confirm the submission of your request.

You may pay in cash for any services rendered, or if you would like to write a check, please make all checks payable to Durham Academy.
