Welcome to Durham Academy Summer!
Join us this summer for a transformative all-day camp experience, keeping campers close to home but feeling a world away as they gain independence and confidence. Durham Academy Summer offers empowering experiences for campers at every age and stage.
Whether it is your child’s first camp experience as a Sprout or Sapling in Camp Evergreen, or they're a more "rooted" camper looking for the next challenge in Night Camp or Summer Institute, our goal is to provide a summer that is moral, happy, and productive by delivering a high-level program that will impact your camper's life and love of learning.
Durham Academy Summer Camps
Camp Evergreen (for ages 4–13) is our all-day camp with a schedule that’s convenient for working parents, a wide array of activities reminiscent of classic overnight camps, and campers who return every evening to the comforts of home. Camp Evergreen feels like a beloved overnight camp in an all-inclusive and adventuresome day camp experience. We want our campers to try as many different experiences as possible to maximize their summer growth while exploring our 84 acres and making use of our state-of-the-art facilities. Our “Summit Series” offers optional add-ons for campers who thirst for more time in one area.
Night Camp (for ages 10–14) is DA’s under-the-stars camp for kids with evening programs for fine and performing arts, athletics and much more. Take the week off from cooking if you sign up for Night Camp, because dinner is part of the menu of activities that makes this program so appealing! These camps features a variety of evening intensives to meet campers' unique interests, from Musical Theatre and DARC SIDE Engineering, Lacrosse, Basketball, Shakespeare and much more. Night Camp meets Monday through Thursday from 5–9 p.m. and includes dinner, instruction and supervised social fun.
Summer Institute (for ages 14–18) is our all-day, deep-dive option for older campers. Whether it’s passion projects or academic enrichments, campers spend the summer pursuing engaging, intellectual and experiential adventures. Designed for those seeking different academic enrichment and life skills and pursuing their passions.

Health & Safety
Health and safety is of the utmost importance for us. We successfully navigated summer 2020 and summer 2021 with no reported COVID-19 transmission, thanks to our stringent health and safety protocols, and we are looking forward to another great summer in 2022! Learn more about our COVID-19 protocols on our FAQs page and on Durham Academy's Cavs Connected page.
"Our daughter was so grateful to be around other children again. She enjoyed every day. Thank you for offering a safe, fun environment for the summer. The safety precautions made us feel safe without making our daughter feel intimidated in any way." 2020 Camp Parent
"I greatly appreciate the academic component, particularly given the disruption to classes in the spring due to COVID-19. Having Upper School students explain the concepts made a difference, as the girls were excited to explain what math concepts they had learned during camp." 2020 Camp Parent
"The atmosphere during dropoff and pickup is great! Campers all look so happy, and instructors are engaging and fun. Great experiences!"2020 Camp Parent
"My son loved Minecraft camp! He couldn't have been happier if he had been at Disney World. Many thanks to the awesome instructors and DA staff." 2020 Camp Parent
