Giving Day

 

Thank you, thank you, thank you! This was an amazing Giving Day in so many ways, and we are so grateful for your support! 

Here are some of the many reasons why:

• 1,047 families, faculty, staff, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents and DA friends supported our teachers, our students, and the next generation of Cavaliers by participating in Giving Day!

• 371 DA alumni from Classes of 1966 to 2025 supported their former teachers and mentors by making a gift.

• 190 DA faculty and staff contributed to this community-wide effort.

• You unlocked $70,000 in challenge gifts provided by generous DA supporters, and you gave $474,985 to Durham Academy!

 

Leaderboards and Alumni: By the Numbers 

Together, we also reminded each other of our dedication to DA and of our dedication to getting involved on behalf of our community.
 

Parent Leaderboards

• Pre-K won 1st place for parent participation in Giving Day after a heated battle between Pre-K and Kindergarten (and a late sprint by 1st Grade!) for the top of the Preschool/Lower School leaderboard.

• 6th Grade won in the Middle School after holding a strong lead throughout the day.

• 9th Grade notched a win in the Upper School after holding a steady lead at the top of the Upper School leaderboard.

Alumni Participation

• The Class of 2005 kept their early breakneck lead, upsetting back-to-back winner Class of 2002 for the #1 spot on the Alumni leaderboard. And Class of 2005 also set a record for the most alumni gifts (35) within a class!

• Alumni in 33 states, Washington, D.C., Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Italy, Norway and the U.K., supported Giving Day.

• Every class from the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s made gifts!
