Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service
Stop Hunger Now Meal-Packaging Event: Jan. 16, 2017
Members of the Durham Academy community will join together on the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service — Monday, Jan. 16 — to package more than 35,000 meals for some of the world's hungriest people. Our goal this year is to feed 100 children one meal a day for an entire year. While we are at capacity for both sessions (10 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.), we are still seeking donations to help us reach our goal!
This year's event will be held in Brumley Performing Arts Building on the Lower School campus. The activity is coordinated with Raleigh-based Stop Hunger Now, an international hunger-relief agency that coordinates the distribution of food and other lifesaving aid to children and families around the world.
