Rent-A-Junior

Thank you for your interest in Durham Academy's Rent-A-Junior program. Each year, the Rent-A-Junior program allows the junior class to raise money for a charitable organization of its choice. Students are asked to work a set number of hours and then donate the money they raise through their work to their class treasury. Typically, at the end of the junior or beginning of the senior year, the class will then donate all of the money raised to the selected organization.

Our beneficiary

Junior classes in the past have donated several thousand dollars or more to various local, national or international organizations.

The Class of 2019 is working to raise funds for Urban Ministries of Durham, which provides food, shelter, clothing and other services for low-income and homeless residents of Durham.

Other recent Rent-A-Junior beneficiaries include WISER (Class of 2018); To Write Love on Her Arms (Class of 2017); and Camp Royall (Class of 2016).

Submit a work request

The suggested donation for this year's Rent-A-Junior program is $8 per hour. Please submit your job request at least five days before it is to take place so that we may find the best people for your job, and be aware that the program is run by students and it may take a few days for someone to contact you to confirm the submission of your request.

You may pay in cash for any services rendered, or if you would like to write a check, please make all checks payable to Durham Academy.
