Middle School Arts Curriculum
In the Middle School Arts curriculum, students experience all five fine arts classes (art, band, drama, chorus and movement) by the second trimester of the sixth-grade year. Rising seventh- and eighth-grade students have opportunities to participate in an all-year art, band or chorus class, or they can choose a semester each of drama and movement.
In addition, Middle School students have an opportunity to participate in Drama Club, Art Club and Movement Club during club time each Monday. Jazz Band Club and Select Singers are offered during the spring semester.
Fifth- and sixth-graders host an evening performance for parents at the end of their band, chorus and drama rotations. Seventh- and eighth-grade band and chorus present three to four programs during the year. During the last week of each movement rotation, a final project of student choreography is presented within the classroom setting.
