Parents Association & Parents Council
The Durham Academy Parents Association supports the school's academic, social, fine arts and athletic objectives. Parents Association encourages volunteerism, raises and disperses funds, promotes communication and cooperation, and provides input to the school on issues of concern and interest to parents. All Durham Academy parents are members of the Parents Association.
The Durham Academy Parents Council is the governing board of the Parents Association. This group comprises members of an executive committee; division representatives; members of schoolwide committees on matters such as diversity, wellness and athletics; and parents who organize both community-building and fundraising events. See a list of the parents who serve on Parents Council.

Bundle Up Durham — an organization started by Durham Academy Upper School students that provides winter coats to children in need — has partnered with DA basketball to sponsor a coat drive and T-shirt sale surrounding the first varsity basketball home game Friday, Nov. 17.
There are 900 homeless children in our community, and many lack adequate winter gear. By ordering a DA basketball/Bundle Up Durham shirt, you can help keep a child warm for the winter. T-shirts are $10 each, and all proceeds go toward providing coats to children in need in the Durham Public Schools system. View the shirt design below and purchase shirts on Veracross. Shirts should be ordered by Monday, Nov. 13. Please wear your shirts to the Nov. 17 game!
Bundle Up Durham is also seeking new and gently used winter coats for children; donations may be dropped off at any of the Durham Academy campuses, where there are collection bins to drop off your donations. The coats will be hand-delivered to students in need. The drive started this week and will go until the day of the game.
