Parents Association & Parents Council
The Durham Academy Parents Association supports the school's academic, social, fine arts and athletic objectives. Parents Association encourages volunteerism, raises and disperses funds, promotes communication and cooperation, and provides input to the school on issues of concern and interest to parents. All Durham Academy parents are members of the Parents Association.
The Durham Academy Parents Council is the governing board of the Parents Association. This group comprises members of an executive committee; division representatives; members of schoolwide committees on matters such as diversity, wellness and athletics; and parents who organize both community-building and fundraising events. Parents Bulletin Board
It is that time of year again! Durham Academy's Parents Council, the governing body of the DA Parents Association, is laying the groundwork for the 2019–2020 year and is calling for nominations for our executive committee and division representative positions.
The following positions need to be filled by the Parents Council Nominating Committee, with the approval of the Parents Council:
- Division Representatives for Preschool, Lower School, Middle School and Upper School
If you are interested in serving or would like to nominate someone for one of these positions, please contact Nominating Chair Caroline Rogers at firstname.lastname@example.org or 919-451-5263 by Thursday, Feb. 28.
Interested in volunteering in another capacity?
As the governing body of the Parents Association, the Parents Council also includes a wide variety of committee members and event coordinators who organize and conduct events and projects on behalf of Parents Association. View a description of these roles here (you must log in to see this page).
All DA parents are members of Parents Association and encouraged to volunteer. Please contact 2019-2020 Parents Council President Ann Leininger at email@example.com or 919-637-3328 to share your interest in volunteering for any of these Parents Council committee and event coordinator positions in the coming year. This spring, Ann will begin assigning volunteers to their respective roles.
