Parents Association & Parents Council
The Durham Academy Parents Association supports the school's academic, social, fine arts and athletic objectives. Parents Association encourages volunteerism, raises and disperses funds, promotes communication and cooperation, and provides input to the school on issues of concern and interest to parents. All Durham Academy parents are members of the Parents Association.
The Durham Academy Parents Council is the governing board of the Parents Association. This group comprises members of an executive committee; division representatives; members of schoolwide committees on matters such as diversity, wellness and athletics; and parents who organize both community-building and fundraising events. See a list of the parents who serve on Parents Council.

Durham Academy's Office of Communications wants you to know what’s happening at DA, and we share information with our community in three ways:
- daily through social media posts to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- weekly via our e-newsletter News & Notes
- biannually via Durham Academy Magazine
Follow us on social media for quick, digestible bits of news and slice-of-life posts that offer a window into what makes everyday life extraordinary at DA! We share news of classroom happenings, student recognitions and upcoming events daily via our Facebook page and Twitter feed, and we take a particularly visual look at school life via our Instagram feed, which frequently features guest student Instagrammers.
News & Notes is emailed to the DA community every Thursday afternoon with stories and photos from Preschool through Upper School, covering academics, arts, athletics, community service and more. It includes links to events taking place during the upcoming week in each school division, as well as links to our photo albums on Flickr and DA-related coverage in the news media. News & Notes is archived on da.org, so it’s easy to follow up on an item you may have missed.
Durham Academy Magazine is a 80- to 90-page print publication mailed each January and July. The magazine takes a more in-depth look at the school and also includes stories about DA alumni. The most recent issue includes a feature on philanthropy through the years at Durham Academy; a look at the Lower School's new TED lab; and a look at DA's Class of 2018. Durham Academy Magazine is archived on da.org, and the digital version increasingly includes material available only online.
If you know of a news item or story idea you’d like to see covered, please share it with the DA Office of Communications at firstname.lastname@example.org.
