Parents Association & Parents Council
The Durham Academy Parents Association supports the school's academic, social, fine arts and athletic objectives. Parents Association encourages volunteerism, raises and disperses funds, promotes communication and cooperation, and provides input to the school on issues of concern and interest to parents. All Durham Academy parents are members of the Parents Association.
The Durham Academy Parents Council is the governing board of the Parents Association. This group comprises members of an executive committee; division representatives; members of schoolwide committees on matters such as diversity, wellness and athletics; and parents who organize both community-building and fundraising events. Mark your calendar for the next Dine Out for DA event, set for Tuesday, March 27, with Bull Street Gourmet & Market, Pop's Backdoor Pizza & Calzones and Tutti Frutti! Come spend time with other DA families, enjoy a delicious barbecue meal or snack, and raise money for Parents Association at the same time.
Each of these businesses — all located in Hope Valley Square, 3710 Shannon Road — has generously offered to donate 10 percent of sales proceeds (dine in and carry out) on March 27 to DA Parents Association. Be sure to mention that you're with Durham Academy!
- Bull Street Gourmet & Market is participating in Dine Out for DA from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Pop's Backdoor Pizza & Calzones is participating in Dine Out for DA from 5 to 9:30 p.m. (Offer is valid for both dine-in and carry out, but not delivery.)
- Tutti Frutti is participating in Dine Out for DA from noon to 9 p.m.
