Varsity teams gear up for post-season play

The spring athletic season is winding down with all varsity teams making a final push toward post-season play in the state tournament.

NCISAA tournament seeding committees for several sports met on Sunday and released the following seedings.

  • Varsity girls soccer (13-1) earned the #3 seed in the quarter-finals and will get a bye in the first round. DA will host this Friday or Saturday, May 12 or 13, TBD at Moylan Field. Admission is $7.00.
  • Varsity boys tennis (17-3) earned a #3 seed in the quarter-finals and gets a bye. DA will host this Friday or Saturday, May 12 or 13, TBD. Admission is $7.00.
  • Varsity baseball (10-9) ended their season as runner-up in the TISAC but did not earn a NCISAA bid.
  • Varsity boys and girls track and field compete in the TISAC conference meet this Friday and Saturday, May 12-13 at NRCA.
  • Varsity boys golf will host the TISAC conference match tomorrow (May 9) at Croasdaile Country Club at 1 p.m.

Seeding meetings for varsity softball, boys and girls lacrosse are held Wednesday, May 10. Seeds and match-ups for those sports will be released after that meeting on Wednesday afternoon.

There will be an admission charge for all NCISAA tournament games (including any playoff games played at Durham Academy).
