While the boys soccer team had its season come to a close on Tuesday in the first round of the state tournament, the girls tennis, volleyball and field hockey teams will all be competing Friday in the state quarterfinals. This week also saw our golf team finish fourth in the conference tournament, while the cross-country teams will run this afternoon in the conference meet.

There is nothing to report in the Durham Academy sports world, as there were no athletics contests in the past week due to Hurricane Florence. Major flooding hit our athletics fields Monday morning, but we seem to have survived with minimal damage and time for our fields to dry. With no events scheduled on Tuesday or Wednesday anyway due to the observance of Yom Kippur, our teams should be in good shape to get back to work this afternoon.
