NCISAA second round at high seed. $7.00 admission.

Event Type: Tournament

Date: October 20, 2017

Event Recap:

The DA girls tennis team continued their historic season as they took a 5-0 win over Wesleyan Christian to advance to the state semi-finals.  This will be the third straight year that the Cavs will compete in the state semis, but the first at home as DA will host either Greensboro Day or Asheville School on Tuesday afternoon.  DA used another doubles sweep (their 13th in 16 opportunities) to build a 3-0 lead.  Callwood/George and Riepl/King won 8-0 on courts 2 and 3 while Galloway/Towning played one of their best matches this year to take down a tough Bell/Isenhour team from Wesleyan 8-4.  The Cavs got off to strong starts in doubles winning five first set.  While Callwood had her hands full with Wesleyan's Brinley Bell, the rest of the Cavalier lineup was cruising as Towning on 2 (0&0) and Galloway on 3 (1&1) gave DA their two singles points to clinch the match.  The remaining matches were halted once DA reached 5.
