Event Recap:

The DA girls tennis team improved to 6-1 after a 9-0 win over conference rival St. Mary's on Friday afternoon.  The Cavaliers played near flawless tennis up and down the lineup starting with a sweep of doubles.  The number one team of sophomores Madeline Towning and Alexis Galloway took and 8-1 win while junior Joy Callwood paired with sophomore Renee George for an 8-2 win on court 2.  The third doubles team of captains Nicole Riepl and Julia King were 8-1 winners as well.  In singles play, the top of the lineup took care of business as Callwood, Galloway, Towning and George lost just a total of two games between them.  Taylor Hunter played strong tennis in a 2&2 win on court 5 while Emma Whitehurst earned her first varsity singles win with a 6-0, 6-0 win on court 6.  DA heads into Tuesday's showdown with Cary Academy with momentum after today's win.
