Lower School Teaching Assistant (part-time)

Start Date: August 2019

Durham Academy is accepting applications for a part-time Lower School Teaching Assistant. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree (preferably in education), experience working with children in an educational environment and a radiant love of children, teaching and learning. 

Hours are from 7:45 a.m.–noon Monday–Friday. Responsibilities include: setting learning goals with lead teacher; planning with lead teacher to implement goals; working with children on academic tasks in small groups; supporting classroom instruction by checking homework, filing papers, preparing activities; leading whole-group instruction when appropriate; and other duties as requested by lead classroom teacher.
