A first-team academic all-Ohio soccer player in high school, Gib played on a championship team at Duke University (but in its intramural league!). Prior to his arrival at Durham Academy in 1997, he coached boys and girls soccer teams at the varsity, JV and middle school levels at Severn School and Phillips Academy (Andover). In 1991, his first year as a varsity girls head coach, he was voted Baltimore’s Catholic League coach of the year. He served as admissions director and assistant to the head of school for his first 10 years at DA, then decided to move back into the classroom in 2007. Since then, he has been an eighth-grade advisor and Middle School math teacher. He has coached the DA Middle School boys soccer team since 2004.
