Alumni
For 50 years, Durham Academy's mission has compelled faculty and staff to prepare students to live moral, happy, productive lives. And if the lives lived by the 5,000-plus adults who comprise the DA alumni community are any indication, the effort is succeeding. This network of fellow alumni is a lifelong benefit of a DA education.

Upcoming Events
"Like many alumni, attending Durham Academy significantly influenced my life and has continued to impact it almost 10 years after graduating. Many people take for granted the significance a local alumni event can have on your future, however it was my decision to attend an alumni event in Charlotte that inevitably led me to my dream job with David Ravin ’89. This strong network allows us to continually be connected to the brilliance our alma matter helped to create and affords us the ability to make impactful and long-lasting connections."

Guiding the Next Generation of Cavs
While alumni have always been encouraged to share about their post-DA experiences with students, there is now a more intentional program in place to facilitate such interactions.
Matt Earp ’97 is among the alums who have returned to campus to share about their careers with students.
Earp described his current career as a content design leader for the Metaverse: “I create immersive experiences that are open, inclusive and joyful for everyone. My current focus is Meta Horizon Worlds, Meta's immersive world-building platform, helping people understand and navigate their experience through words, signs, symbols, sounds and shapes.”
In her new position as student development and career exploration counselor with the College Counseling team, Lori Reade is working to help students envision life beyond college. Several alumni have visited campus to talk about their professional and educational journeys with Upper School students.
Pay it Forward
As a member of the DA alumni community, there are multiple avenues for paying forward the benefits you received as a student — from financially supporting the school, to working with athletics teams, to meeting with students to share about your professional and educational journey.
Alumni support is critical to the success of the Durham Academy Fund, which helps fund student financial aid, academics, arts, athletics and more — allowing the school to say "yes" to ideas that have an immediate impact on students and teachers.
