This course is an introduction to pure mathematics. The vast majority of mathematics taught at the high school level teaches you how to use mathematics. This class teaches you how to create it. You will learn to view mathematics like a mathematician, and hopefully gain a little understanding of what mathematicians mean when they speak about “the beauty of mathematics.” In this class, you will learn a little from each of these topics: Symbolic Logic, Number Theory, Graph Theory and Set Theory. You are encouraged to research these topics on the internet to see what they are — but know that you will likely find materials from college-level courses, as these topics are rarely taught at the high school level. If you want to enjoy creating new kinds of math, take this course!
