Middle School Curriculum

Prerequisite: None, although students should be strongly interested in learning aspects related to coding and Computer Science.

This year-long class will use aspects of the Code.org CS Discoveries Class and ProjectSTEM course for students who want to learn more about computer coding. Topics covered will include but are not limited to problem-solving and computing, design processes, interactive animations and games, physical computing, website design, and AI and machine learning. 

Kevin Brookhouser best expresses the guiding mantra of all computer science courses: “Failure is an Option; Failure to Deliver is Not.”

For each unit/project, students will complete a reflective learning portfolio with artifacts. They must document their learning, reflect on their progress, communicate ideas to others to gather feedback and reflect on their learning process.
