Freedom from Chemical Dependency to Host Virtual Parent Night on Tuesday

Parents of Middle and Upper School students are invited to attend a parent night with Freedom from Chemical Dependency (FCD), which works to help keep students drug-free during childhood and adolescence. The virtual event is set for Tuesday, May 18, from 7 to 8 p.m. via Zoom.

The event will be hosted by an FCD specialist. All FCD educators are highly trained professionals who have achieved healthy recovery from alcohol or other drug addictions. 

The Parent Night aims to:

  • Help parents understand the essential role they play in keeping their kids drug-free during childhood and adolescence.
  • Help parents understand the importance of modeling healthy, appropriate attitudes and behaviors for kids.

  • Provide parents with the latest facts about addiction and the mental and physical effects of alcohol and other drugs; clear up misinformation

  • Explain the risk factors for addiction.

  • Dispel myths and misconceptions about adolescent drug use.

  • Answer parent questions.
