Durham Academy’s Class of 2022 has organized a fundraiser at Chipotle (Durham's Watkins Road location in the Gateway Terrace development) on Monday, May 17, 2021, from 5–9 p.m. The junior class will receive 33% of the proceeds from the night, with both purchases made in store and online benefiting the class charity, the Vs. Cancer Foundation.
Each year’s DA’s junior class chooses a nonprofit to support, and juniors typically raise funds via the Rent-A-Junior program. However, this year’s Rent-A-Junior program has been on hold due to COVID-19, forcing students to think of fresh ideas for raising funds. The Class of 2022 has chosen to support Vs. Cancer, which helps fund child life programs in hospitals and pediatric brain tumor research.
The Chipotle hosting the junior class’s fundraiser is at 3219 Watkins Road, Suite 100, in Durham.
