On Sunday night, Durham Academy student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, administrators and families gathered in Horton Hall to celebrate the 2022 spring season at the annual varsity athletic awards event.

There was much to be proud at the conclusion of a season in which DA teams earned five Triangle Independent Schools Athletics Conference (TISAC) championships (baseball, boys golf, boys lacrosse, girls lacrosse and girls track and field); three TISAC Player-of-the-Year awards and one TISAC track and field meet MVP honors; 26 All-Conference selections; three teams that advanced to the N.C. Independent School Athletics Association (NCISAA) state semifinals (baseball, girls lacrosse, boys tennis); and one back-to-back state individual champion (senior Julianna Hallyburton in pole vault).
