Fall Team Updates

Varsity Cross-Country

The cross-country teams defeated Ravenscroft in their first meet of the year Wednesday. The races were shortened from the traditional 5K to a 3K race due to the afternoon heat. Defending state champion Audrey Crowder ’27 led the way for the girls, finishing first with a time of 11:56! Angus Cook ’25 took first for the boys with a time of 10:33! The team’s next meet is Wednesday, as DA hosts St. David’s School and Saint Mary’s School.

Varsity Field Hockey

The team is still sitting at 2–0 on the season, having had two games postponed due to weather last week. The Cavaliers are back in action Friday as they head to Covenant Day School for a 4:30 p.m. matchup.

Varsity Girls Golf

The defending state champions defeated North Raleigh Christian Academy, 114–138, on Tuesday to open the season. They visit Ravenscroft this afternoon for a TISAC (Triangle Independent Schools Athletic Conference) matchup.

Varsity Boys Soccer

The varsity boys soccer team defeated Riverside (4–2) on Tuesday and Northern (3–0) on Wednesday. The team currently sits at 7–1 on the year! The Cavaliers play again Tuesday, as they host Cary Academy.

Varsity Girls Tennis

The girls tennis team defeated Forsyth Country Day School last Thursday with a 9–0 score. The Cavs are back in action this weekend, as they host Charlotte Country Day on Friday at 4:15 p.m. and Providence Day School at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Varsity Volleyball

The Cavaliers held their first home game of the season last Friday in front of a great crowd at Kirby Gym! The Cavs put up a fight but ultimately fell, 0–3. They are currently 6–3 on the season. They hit the road tonight as they travel to Cary Christian School and to TISAC rival Saint Mary’s on Friday.

Parent Athletics Committee

Interested in supporting the Parent Athletics Committee’s work? Being involved with the PAC is a great social activity, allowing for interactions with students, coaches and staff, and this group’s efforts are integral to the success of Durham Academy Athletics.

One fun, important opportunity to get involved is to help with concessions. Thank you in advance for your help!
