2012-2013 DURHAM ACADEMY PARENT VOLUNTEER FORM

All parents and guardians of students enrolled at Durham Academy are members of Parents Association. Our community relies on the generosity of volunteers who donate their time and talent to help raise funds to support programs and activities across all divisions of DA. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

ALUMNI & DEVELOPMENT OFFICE

Annual Fund Volunteer (Help with solicitation of parents and alumni for Annual Fund gifts during the fall and spring phonathons.)

Special Projects (Help as needed with special projects and mailings.)

Evergreen Campaign (Help with solicitation of parents for support of campaign.)

ANNUAL BENEFIT AUCTION (March 1, 2013)

Leadership team: Jennifer Riley, Tonya Petrucci, Kristin Teer, Blair Morgan and Bonnie Boone

Acquisitions (Work with Acquisitions Chairs to solicit auction items that are historically donated as well as new items)

Set-up (Help set up acquisitions/displays the day before the event)

Decorations (Plan and decorate the venue to enhance the event’s theme)

Student Projects (Coordinate and execute projects for Middle School students)

Tuition Raffle (Help with sale of tuition raffle tickets)

USED BOOK SALE (April 18-21, 2013; Chairs: Caroline Rogers and Morgan Moylan)

Book Collector [Pick up books from collection bins weekly (depending upon fullness) and deliver at your convenience to the sorting site.]

Sorting (Sort books at the Middle School storage area as needed throughout the school year)

Bake Sale Volunteers (Coordinate donations from the DA parent community. Set up and sell baked goods during school hours.)

Cashiers & General Volunteers (Assist for a shift on the sale days. Weekday and weekend times available.)

FAMILY EVENTS

All-School Picnic (Sept. 23) Chairs: Stacey Burkert and Laura Virkler
Help to plan the event and/or work a shift.

DA Night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park (Date: TBA, Spring 2013) Chair: Andy Dunk
Help to organize DA at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park for a night of baseball and fun!

DA Night at the Hurricanes (Date: TBA) Chair: Nickie Donovan
Help to organize DA at the Carolina Hurricanes for this family night of fun!

Turkey Trot 5K/Fun Run (Nov. 10) Chairs: Hannah Hannan and Lisa D'Amico (Help in planning and on race day.)

Please call me as needs arise (mailings, special events, arrangements for luncheons, etc)

WRAPPING PAPER

Help distribute orders to students.
