The Durham Academy Alumni Association and Athletic Department are pleased to announce the creation of the Durham Academy Athletic Hall of Fame. The first class of the Athletic Hall of Fame will be inducted Friday, Dec. 6, in Kirby Gymnasium.

Durham Academy's 2013 Fall Alumni Weekend, held Oct. 4 to 5, kicked off with the event's largest Friday night social attendance yet, followed by a great turnout for the newest alumni tradition — a basketball reunion gathering — and a reunion party for graduates of classes ending in 3s and 8s.

In the more than 40 years since Durham Academy fielded its first varsity athletic teams, Cavaliers have won 70-plus state championships and dozens of athletes have gone on to successful collegiate and professional athletic careers. Given that rich history of excellence, the time is ripe a Durham Academy Athletic Hall of Fame, said DA Athletic Director Steve Engebretsen, and the inaugural class will be inducted Dec. 6.
|Josh Zoffer ’10 earns international academic award for paper on currency pegs|
Durham Academy alumnus Josh Zoffer ’10 is among 43 of “the world’s brightest and most innovative undergraduate students” honored in The Undergraduate Awards
international academic awards program for 2013. Zoffer, a senior at Harvard College, learned in late September that he had been chosen as the international winner in the International Relations & Politics category for his paper “The Currency of Coercion: The Effect of Currency Pegs on the Success of Economic Sanctions.”
