This fun event is an opportunity for families and faculty to gather for a relaxed afternoon of music, games and picnicking. The picnic will be held Sunday, Sept. 22.

The DA Athletics Director oversees the operations of the Athletic Committee, which works to promote the role of athletic competition in grades 7-12.

This is Parents Association's signature fundraising event. There are numerous opportunities to volunteer, share your special skills and forge new friendships all the while coming together for the benefit of our children. This year's auction will be held March 29.

The Caring Committee facilitates support for our families, faculty or staff in response to significant life events that arise in our DA community.

CavClassifieds is an electronic advertising service provided by the DA Parents Association through which you may advertise goods or services.
Ad revenues from this service benefit programs of the Durham Academy Parents Association, and your advertisement reaches nearly 1,000 DA households! Previous ads have listed items to sell, sought items to buy, and advertised for babysitters, summer jobs, house rentals or other services. You may also include lost and found items or advertise your business.

DA's Director of Diversity & Multicultural Affairs, Kemi Nonez, leads division coordinators in each school division, parents and students to plan and administer initiatives and programs that are an integral part of DA life and curriculum.

At the close of each year, Parents Association honors our entire faculty and staff with a luncheon and presents books to commemorate employees who've reached milestones in their years of service to DA.

|Innisbrook Wrapping Paper and Gift Sale|

It's not just wrapping paper and bows! Shop for a wide variety of gifts (gourmet goodies, tote bags, jewelry, etc.) and raise money for DA! 50 percent of the sale profits are returned to the school! The annual fall sale is set for Sept. 6-27, 2013.

Help with DA's 4th Annual All-School 5K Turkey Trot and 1K Fun Run, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 16. Pre-race organizers and race-day volunteers are needed!
|Used Book Sale|
Co-Chairs: Morgan Moylan, Ginny Fogg and Kaija Beard
The DA Used Book Sale is a DA and Durham community event. More than 15,000 books are collected throughout the year, culminating with a book sale and bake sale April 3 to 6.
Volunteer opportunities include sorting books prior to the sale, staffing during the sale and assisting students with their shopping, and supporting the bake sale. Donations of books will be accepted all school year up until just before the sale. Collection points are centrally located in each division.

Along with Division Directors and faculty members, this Parents Council representative assists in the identification and selection of visiting authors and artists who perform at DA.
Records and distributes the names of volunteers for the various Parents Council events throughout the year.
