Lower School Clubs

Lower School clubs are under the umbrella of the Lower School Extended Day Program. It is important to note that while the many Extended Day activities are offered for a fee, participation in the Lower School clubs held during this time — including the chorus, Orff, movement, service and Real Time Radio Show clubs — is free of charge or $10 per semester. Learn more about these groups below, and visit the Lower School Extended Day page for details on the variety of other after-school programs.

Chorus

The Lower School Chorus is open to all interested third- and fourth-grade students who love to sing and enjoy performing. Learn more.

Movement Ensemble

The Lower School Movement Ensemble is a group of students who enjoy creative movement and acting and improvisation. This group is open to third- and fourth-grade students who will develop movement and story characters for our performances at the end of the semester. Learn more.

Nature Club

Nature Club members aim to gain an understanding of the environment by observing, exploring and interacting with the area around the Lower School garden. Club members, all third- and fourth-graders, are provided with recording materials, become weather trackers and participate in the planting and care of a spring vegetable garden.

Orff Ensemble

The Lower School Orff Ensemble is a group of chorus students who are interested in playing the bar instruments to accompany the chorus and also learn challenging bar instrument pieces. Learn more.

Real Time Radio Show

With inspiration from Garrison Keillor, students in the Lower School have created their own radio show. Students highlight events at the Lower School, share parts of their cultures and perform their music. Learn more and tune in to the show at www.da.org/RealTimeRadio.

Student Service Club

From packaging Halloween candy to help cheer troops overseas, to making blankets for people in need in our community, third- and fourth-graders look to make a difference through the Student Service Club's efforts. Learn more.
