Cav stops #1 team in the nation

The pain of seeing the Tar Heels lose is lessened by watching a DA alumna do the damage.

From the Herald-Sun: Duke upsets No. 1 UNC; ends 3-year ACC streak

CHAPEL HILL — After 100 minutes of field hockey Friday evening at Francis E. Henry Stadium, the ACC battle between No. 13 Duke and No. 1 North Carolina was finally decided by a shootout, with the Blue Devils earning the victory, 3-2. The loss was UNC’s first in regular-season ACC play since 2010 and the first time the Tar Heels have fallen at home since 2011.

“We had plenty of chances but credit goes to Duke’s goalie. I thought Lauren Blazing was outstanding today. Twenty-two saves on the day – that’s an impressive statistic.”
