Founded in 1933, Durham Academy is a coeducational, independent day school with approximately 1,145 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Durham Academy provides a stimulating academic environment and broad, varied opportunities for growth through arts, athletics, outdoor education and community service. Durham Academy is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools.

Durham Academy accepts applications to fill vacancies as they become available. DA typically seeks dedicated teachers with advanced degrees and classroom experience in their fields as well as a willingness to get involved in the extracurricular life of the school.
