Kenan Trust issues challenge for gifts to

Sheppy Vann Preschool Scholarship Fund

The Kenan Trust has issued a wonderful challenge to the Durham Academy community: If DA can raise $250,000 in the Sheppy Vann Preschool Scholarship Fund by June, the Kenan Trust will match with a gift of $125,000.

The Sheppy Vann Preschool Scholarship Fund was established in 2014 as a tribute to retiring Preschool Director Sheppy Vann, whose commitment to welcome and support students of all backgrounds helped make the Preschool an extraordinary place for our youngest students to thrive and learn. The fund provides need-based financial aid each year to students entering pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, and helps make the Preschool accessible to a wider range of students. Read More

Each classroom featured food, artifacts, crafts, music, fact/photo displays and presenters in clothing characteristic of that region. Read More
